Our client needed a master plan for the custom home they were having built. The unique opportunities this project presented made it a lot of fun. The client wanted to provide connected access for their guests from each amenity to another. One example is from the pool & hot tub area on the ground level of the house to the basement level recreation rooms. The client also wanted to tie-in a water feature to provide interest and relaxation that was able to be enjoyed from each elevation level - inside and outside - simultaneously.
We were able to embrace these opportunities and provided the client with an elegant flagstone pathway that gently curves and slopes away from the pool area and back around to the downstairs where it ends in an adorable gold fish pond - right outside the recreation rooms. All of which is simply and elegantly landscaped. It can be heard and seen from the kitchen, the pool, the upstairs rooms, the master suite and walkway all the way down to the downstairs. It is just what they wanted and it is simply stunning.
The pool deck is covered with Travertine tiles to protect the family and their guests from overheated feet during the hot summer months. Those same Travertine tiles circle the hot tub and the infinity pool - which draws your eye directly up to the amazing view of the Peaks of Otter. We utilized stone, boulders and flagstone throughout the retaining walls, landscape beds and pathways to seamlessly tie into the beautiful stone facade on the house itself.
The most exciting opportunity was getting pavers up onto the 2nd floor deck just outside the guest rooms and master suite - it was over 10 feet to deliver those pavers to our team members. But the finished product was well worth it - it's beautiful and very unique. Check out the gallery for more of this amazing part of the project!
